Explore More: Travel By Bus

Hi girls,

With summer 2012 being in full effect, it’s now time to enjoy the last of your few months before having to return or attend college for the first time! The weather is way above 90 degrees in various parts of the country, so there could not be a better time to explore the world the affordable way, by bus!

Traveling by bus can simply be when you are picked up and dropped off in a city of your choice, or when you are led by a tour guide on a destination trip while having plenty of free leisurely time to explore places/engage in any activities of your choice.

Bus travel is a highly affordable transportation alternative for college girls when compared to air travel; and many bus travel agencies include accommodation, food, and event/venue tickets into their travel packages, unlike airplane companies. With being able to simply browse through company websites and choose your favorite packages, there’s no need to hire an expensive travel agent; so get off of your front porch, and leave the fresh squeezed lemonade and watermelon behind!

There are many bus traveling companies located throughout the world, so it can be kind of difficult to figure out whom to travel with, therefore I’ve listed my top picks below:

Megabus is a low-cost inner city travel company located in Canada, Europe and the United States. You can conveniently and safely travel across Europe to cities such as Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris; or travel in America to Portland, San Antonia, Orlando and many more cities for very cheap. www.megabus.com

The Gotobus is a Chinatown bus that provides daily cheap tickets to major US and Canada cities. Gotobus offers tour and vacation packages in Asia, Canada, Europe, the United States, and Latin America. You can visit the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas for three days for $99 or go explore Niagara Falls, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. for $100.

During Spring Break last year I caught the Gotobus from Charlotte to New York City for only $20. I got dropped off in Chinatown and from there caught a taxi to my hotel in the Fashion District; it was fun! www.gotobus.com

Topdeck is an expert travel company that is committed to providing outstanding service for individuals who are 18-39 years old. The company provides trips to Africa, Australia, Europe, and New Zealand. You can stay in 2 and 3 star hotels with Topdeck’s EuroHotel package, cabins and yachts with their EuroClub package, and at some of the best campsites in Europe with their EuroCamping package. www.topdeck.travel

  3. It’s the perfect transition from the school bus ride to the motorcoach bus tour! As recent college graduates, Simon & Garfunkel immortalized bus travel in their song ‘America’ during the summer of 1968. Bus travel should also become more a part of our culture today because it is an eco-friendly way to get to your destination and visit all the educational and entertaining points of interest along the way!
